Although an endangered species native to Nepal growing up to 5000 metres, it is possibly one of the easiest meconopsis. The flowers in shades of cobalt blue are held above blue-green prickly foliage. Needing only a sunny well drained site it generally produces plenty of seed and will happily naturalise.
